Growing east end dermatology office looking for a full time histology technician. Ability to accession and gross specimens, cut paraffin and frozen specimens, and appropriately stain specimens. MOHS experience, IHC and special stainings a plus. Must have strong work ethic, detail oriented, and willing to learn.

This is a full time dermatology HT position. Monday through Friday 7:30-4:30 with an hour for lunch. Pay is dependent upon experience and certification.

DPA is a privately owned dermatopathology laboratory operating Monday through Friday and located in downtown Louisville, KY. We provide services for dermatologists around the country.

We are currently seeking a full time HT / HTL or candidate. Duties include but are not limited to the following: accessioning specimens, grossing, processing specimens, embedding, microtomy, H & E staining (automated), manual special stains, general daily / weekly maintenance of instruments, filing blocks / slides, data entry, learning new procedures, inventory control, and troubleshooting.

The Histotechnologist prepares thin sections of human tissue preliminary to microscopic examination, interpretation and diagnosis by the Pathologist. The Histotechnologist works with delicate tissue samples, automated equipment, chemicals and glass slides. Performs histological preparations consistent with the policies and procedures of the laboratory including embedding, sectioning and staining using both histology and immunohistochemistry platforms as needed. The Histotechnologist understands techniques and theory of routine procedures. Contributes to patient and department compliance with Federal and all other health plan’s patient management objectives.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: HTL (ASCP) certification required. Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college/university. Monday through Friday, every third Saturday.

Fulltime (40 hours) Histotech.  A Bachelor’s degree in Histology or related science preferred. Must hold, or be eligible to hold, ASCP certification in Histology. Excellent guest relations and communication skills required. Will perform duties and projects to ensure the function of the histology department.
